Man arrested for assault & battery, disturbing the peace, & vandalism in Rota

08/19/2025 - 34-year-old Jayville Manglona was arrested for committing assault & battery, disturbing the peace, and vandalism on Rota yesterday.

According to CNMI Department of Public Safety Assistant Chief of Police and Acting Public Information Officer Simon Manacop, “[the] male suspect used the ATM Machine, which didn't dispense money. [He] began to damage the machine and fought people who were stopping him.”

Marianas Press learned that the incident happened just outside the Sunshine Variety Shop in Sinapalo in Rota.

Viral videos and photos shared on social media also appear to show Manglona being restrained while on the ground inside the store as local police responded to the call about the incident, which was reported at 2:42 p.m.
