06/30/2025 - CNMI Lt. Governor David Apatang is in the Republic of the Marshall Islands for the 27th Micronesian Islands Forum, which officially begins today.
Marianas Press learned that RMI President Hilda C. Heine, Federated States of Micronesia President Wesley W. Simina, Republic of Nauru Special Envoy Isabela Dageago, Republic of Palau Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, and the Environment Steven Victor, Governor of Guam Lourdes A. Leon Guerrero, Governor of Chuuk Alexander R. Narruhn, Governor of Pohnpei Stevenson A. Joseph, Governor of Kosrae Tulensa W. Palik, Yap Deputy Director for Health Services Dominic Taruwemai, and Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum Baron Divavesi Waqa will also be present.
This year’s theme for the meeting is “The Brief Period When Tides Shift Direction” – An Opportune Moment to Act Decisively and Without Hesitation. The meeting is being held at the International Conference Center in Majuro.
The regional leaders plan to discuss health, transportation, gender equality, and the environment. The meeting is set to end on Friday, July 4, with the launch of RMI’s Green Growth Initiative.
