10/22/2025 - Communications and Senior Policy Advisor to the Governor John Gonzales has informed the administration that he will resign effective October 31, 2025. Gonzales was hired by the late Governor Arnold Palacios in June.
In his October 10, 2025, letter to Governor David Apatang, Gonzales wrote, “serving under both your and late Governor Arnold Palacios' leadership has been one of my gratifying honors of my professional life. I have learned so much from your example of steady guidance, humility, and unquestionable commitment to our people. Your trust and encouragement have allowed me to grow both personally and professionally, for which I will always be grateful.”
He added, “As I take this step to explore new opportunities for professional growth, please know that this decision was not made lightly. It comes with heartfelt appreciation for the chance you gave me to contribute to your administration and to the Marianas we both love.”
Gonzales concluded, “Thank you, Governor, for your confidence, mentorship, and graciousness. It truly has been a privilege to serve alongside you. Please know I will keep you in prayers as you lead with faith.”
