09/04/2025 - CNMI House Rep. Diego Vincent F. Camacho said there was a great turnout for the first Tuesday Night Farmers Market this week in Koblerville.
"We had about 14 vendors, selling fresh produce, prepared foods, local medicine and oils, and freshly prepared fruit drinks. The southern end of the island seemed to lack any sort of community events. I wanted to collaborate with the KAFPA (Kagman Agricultural Farms and Producers Association) initially to have a "Sabalu Market" however, it was suggested by the farmers to have it on a weekday so that there is an additional opportunity in the week to sell their harvest. So this was a trial run. It was a successful turnout being the first event," he told Marianas Press.
He added, "It looks like we'll continue with this on the first Tuesday of every month." The venue is located on the open field east of the Koblerville Youth Center.
Camacho's office is funding the logistics, including tents, tables, and portable toilets. Power for lights is provided through the Youth Center.
