06/03/25 - The CNMI Public School System announced its first phase of school principal rotations.
"As part of this commitment, we are pleased to announce the launch of Phase 1 of the Strategic Rotation of School Principals, effective School Year 2025–2026. We extend our full support and gratitude to the dedicated leaders involved in this transition and are confident that their continued service will bring fresh perspectives and renewed energy to our schools," they said in an announcement on Tuesday morning.
The following rotations were announced:
-Derwin Johnson - Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School
-Jasylene Parico - Garapan Elementary School
-James Sablan - San Vicente Elementary School
-Raena Camacho - Oleai Elementary School
-Vince Dela Cruz - Dandan Middle School
-Dr. Lynn Mendiola - Saipan Southern High School
-Preston Basa (*Incoming Acting Principal) - Francisco M. Sablan Middle School
-Lynette Villagomez (*Incoming Principal) - William S. Reyes Elementary School
With these new assignments, Johnson will be leaving GES, Parico will be leaving OES, Sablan will be leaving DMS, Camacho will be leaving GTC, Dela Cruz will be leaving SSHS, Mendiola will be leaving WSR, and Basa will be leaving MHS. Villagomez is a new hire but not new to PSS.
CNMI PSS added, "We extend our full support and gratitude to the dedicated leaders involved in this transition and are confident that their continued service will bring fresh perspectives and renewed energy to our schools."
The rotations have been subject to community scrutiny and heated debates by leaders and stakeholders.
Marianas Press learned that there will be a second phase of rotations during the 2026 -2027 school year.
