CNMI Corrections builds reentry program

11/25/2024 - As the CNMI Department of Corrections takes on parole responsibilities it is also in the early stages of creating a reentry program. The department received $60,000 from the Bureau of Justice Assistance in training and technical assistance to create and implement a program.

Marianas Press was there when CNMI DOC Commissioner Anthony Torres checked in with six active parolees last Friday as Attorney Devon Simmons, who works for the Virginia State Crime Commission, flew in from the states to help establish the program.
