About the Teacher

The majority of my teaching career has been in the Catholic school system. Between classroom experience and professional tutoring, I have humbly worked with students from age 4 through adults since 1980. My story began the first day I arrived home from Kindergarten; I gathered the neighborhood children and promptly set them up classroom style in the backyard so that I could 'teach' them! If it wasn't with them, it was with my dolls and stuffed animals. I went on to earn two degrees in education - my Bachelor's from the University of Illinois and a Master's from National Louis University (formerly National College of Education). My classroom teaching experiences have always been in Catholic schools, and I have many years of working as an education professional for a tutoring company. While working for the tutoring company, I served in capacities both as a tutor and an education director. Being an education director afforded me the opportunity to train teachers, write and organize instructional programs, and evaluate incoming students for appropriate programs, as well as make school visits and meet with parents. When I resumed classroom teaching after our youngest child was in school, I discerned a desire to study theology, and completed a second Master's degree in Pastoral Studies from Loyola University of Chicago. I truly feel blessed to be part of the Marian family since 2013, and to have the privilege of teaching the young people that God has placed in our care.

Some of my favorite pastimes are gardens, tea, lots of books, exploring unique places, visiting shrines and cathedrals, and any time spent with family!
