The focus of this course is on the fundamentals of effective writing, enhanced with the reading of selected texts (see list below). You will read and write narrative, descriptive, expository, and argumentative prose with an emphasis on clear and concise expression of your ideas. Advanced reading and intermediate writing skills are expected for success in this course. This course also presents a thematic approach to contemporary and classic literature across cultures and genres.
