Our Mission

Marian Central's English Department is committed to the success of every student - whether it is challenging students with a rigorous pre-AP curriculum or improving a struggling reader's fluency and comprehension. We realize we are the final four years before your student is facing the demands of college or the work-force, and we are prepared to make the most out of every moment. Every year, we thoughtfully review our curriculum, teaching strategies, and test results to maximize our effectiveness.

Our ACT and AP scores have consistently proven that we have created the right balance of time-tested skills with cutting-edge pedagogy. We blend engaging activities with traditional teaching conventions. We assign creative projects along with scholarly academic writing. Furthermore, we have created a faith-inspired curriculum that encourages success at every level. If students need extra help or accommodations, we work closely with our Guidance office and Academic Resource Department to make sure every student succeeds. Our English curriculum fosters mobility based on student ability and motivation.
