The oldest of 5 children, I grew up on Long Island since the age of 4. At an early age I knew I wanted to draw superheroes like those heroes I read about in the comic books I read (usually in the dentist or doctors office) and the tv shows I couldn't get enough of.
After graduating from Hofstra University with a BA in Psychology I went back to school at the Joe Kubert School of Art, where I learned storytelling, animation and comic book art. At the urging of one of my instructors, after my second year, I interviewed for a spot as a colorist for Valiant Comics. I got the job and eventually I became the lead colorist on their flagship title Harbinger. Under the mentorship of Bob Layton, a legend in the business, I learned to ink as his background artist. I took what I learned and started to find freelance inking work at Marvel, DC, Milestone, and Crusade comics as well as other independent companies.
After 10 year's as a comic book artist, I moved on to run various graphic design departments in the publishing, automotive and non-profit space. Over the years I increased my knowledge base by taking on social media and email automation positions for fortune 500 companies.
In October of 2024, I started a new position as the Digital Media Specialist with Stony Brook University's Research Foundation's NY Sea Grant program. I get to use all the different skills I acquired over my career on a daily basis and I couldn't be happier.
