This page will include tutorials regarding different tech tools we will be utilizing in English and Writer's Workshop. Please refer to these videos as often as you'd like!
GoogleClassroom
GoogleClassroom is a Learning Management System that will act as a home base for our class, both in person and online. All assignments will be available on GoogleClassroom, and this will be where work is submitted.
EdPuzzle
EdPuzzle is a program that allows students to watch videos supplied by Ms. V to provide content, enrichment, and review. These videos will have questions or notes embedded throughout to check for understanding throughout the video. It will also be used as a collection tool for students when utilizing video for research purposes.
Padlet
Padlet is a digital bulletin board. This program will be utilized for reading blogs, as well as collaborative and brainstorming assignments.
IXL
IXL is a skill-based program to help practice ELA skills. This class will be used to practice and review concepts that have been taught throughout the years.
Vocab.com
Vocab.com is a program to help practice vocabulary words, often used as review for vocab units. This program helps with reviewing definitions, parts of speech, and usage. Students will generally be given a week of complete a Vocab.com assignment, in which they must get 90% completion. If students go up to 100%, they will receive 5 points on the vocabulary test.
Flipgrid
Flipgrid is a program that is a video-based discussion board. Ms. V will post a topic board, and students will respond with a short video of them answering the question and responding to peers. Due to social distancing, it will be difficult to engage in class discussion, and this tool allows all students to have a voice.
