This week Oak and Juniper classes had a fantastic time exploring Bedgebury, engaging in a delightful quest to find signs of the changing season. The children displayed exemplary behaviour throughout the trip, showcasing their enthusiasm and curiosity as they immersed themselves in the natural environment.
In another enriching activity, Year 2 attended Marden Library, where they had a wonderful time delving into the extensive array of books available. The experience not only fostered a love for reading but also encouraged the children to expand their literary horizons. We extend our thanks to Marden Library for hosting these invaluable events for the children.
On Thursday, our school choir had the remarkable opportunity to visit the O2 for Young Voices. This event allowed the children to share their passion for singing with peers from other schools, creating a memorable experience steeped in collaboration. The children thoroughly enjoyed participating in this vibrant event, which significantly contributed to their confidence and camaraderie.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

We aim to be a Nut-Free school at Marden. The school aims to protect children who have allergies to nuts yet also help them, as they grow up, to take responsibility as to what foods they can eat and to be aware of where they may be put at risk. We do not allow nuts or nut products in school lunch boxes.
Our “Nut-Free Policy” means that the following items should not be brought into school:
Packs of nuts
Peanut butter or Nutella sandwiches
Fruit and cereal bars that contain nuts
Chocolate bars or sweets that contain nuts
Sesame seed rolls (children allergic to nuts may also have a severe reaction to sesame)
Cakes made with nuts
Any home cooked meals for packed lunches that are made from nuts
As the weather begins to turn colder and wetter, please remember to send your child into the academy wearing a coat. As always, it is really important that all clothing items are named so if they become misplaced, they can be returned to the correct owner.
Over time, more and more fitness apps have been finding their way into circulation. Usually free to download – at least initially – these apps claim to offer helpful advice and assistance in routine management to those looking to lead a healthier lifestyle.
While these platforms can be useful, they do present several safety concerns. These issues become more significant when we consider that children and young people can use these apps to stay active – whether out of concern for their own health or for reasons of body image. Our free guide breaks down the risks of health and fitness apps and offers expert advice on how to address these concerns to safeguard younger users.
