Welcome back! I hope you have all had a lovely summer. It has been wonderful this week to see all of the children back in school and settling in to their new classes.
We would like to say a very warm welcome to our new Reception children and their families. The children have had a brilliant first week getting to know each other, meeting their new teachers and settling into school life.
I would also like to welcome our new members of staff: Mrs Davies (Teacher in Sequoia class), Miss Thatcher (Teacher in Chestnut class), Miss Allen (Late Stay Assistant) and Mr Haley (Caretaker). I am sure you will all join me in welcoming them to Marden.
As you know we have had significant renovation work completed over the summer. We are very excited to share the changes to the building with you and would like to offer all parents/carers an opportunity to come and have a look at the building on Wednesday 11th September, from 3.15 - 4.00pm, when we will also have the children’s work from their Sustainable Development Goals project available for you to see in their classrooms. There will of course be a few finishing touches to make around the building but we hope you will be as pleased as we are with the way it looks.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Office Messages
All communication from the school is sent via My Child At School (MCAS).
Please ensure you have push notifications enabled on your mobile phone so that you can receive notifications sent to the app.
If you are not a MCAS registered user, the system will default to send an email instead.
Please could we politely request that parents do not email the Principal or teachers directly regarding school matters. Emails should come in via the office where they will be dealt with and passed on to the relevant member of staff. Teachers will no longer respond to direct emails.
Similarly, all pupil absences should be reported via MCAS or the office and not directly to teachers. Information is not always passed on which results in unnecessary phone calls to parents.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
With most children today having their own phones, computers and other devices, it’s vitally important that parents and educators know how to keep young people protected while using them. Between targeted adverts, age-inappropriate content, and other online safety concerns, it can sometimes feel overwhelming to keep on top of.
Parental controls, present on most devices and several apps, can make this job significantly easier – but a certain amount of knowledge is required to use them effectively. This free online safety guide will provide you with the information you need to activate and maintain parental controls on children and young people’s devices.
