Principal's Message

We have had another lovely week at Marden, with lots of exciting learning experiences. We had the pleasure of a visit from our Chair of Governors this week who enjoyed a tour of the school and then the chance to eat lunch with some of the children.

Some of our Year 6 children took part in a Trust swimming gala on Tuesday. They did a fantastic job and made it into the finals. Well done to everyone who took part, we are very proud of you.

It is beginning to feel a little festive with nativity rehearsals, carols echoing in the hall and musical instruments being played in classes. Tomorrow we have our school Christmas Fair. The PTA have been working very hard to organise this and make it a special event for the school and local community. We hope lots of you will be able to come along.

Zachary was given the honour of holding the Beavers flag at Marden Church Remembrance Service on Sunday 12th November. He felt very proud to be representing his colony and we're very proud of him too!

National Online Safety

Gone are the days of Black Friday only existing in the physical environs of the high street. Now, both this retail landmark and its sister event, Cyber Monday, see deals and discounts displayed across almost every online retailer. The array of reductions makes this an ideal moment to treat a loved one (or yourself!) to those treasured items for considerably less than their usual cost.

The frantic dash for the best bargains online, however, also harbours several risks: chiefly, cybercriminals hoping to exploit people’s excitement and hoodwink them out of their hard-earned cash. Our #WakeUpWednesday has some expert pointers on keeping both your money and your personal information safe while still making the most of the spectacular sales.
