Principal's Message

Despite the cold, wet weather, we have started the term full of energy and ready to learn. It was lovely to see lots of parents/carers attend our open event on Wednesday. We hope you found it useful to get an overview of your child's learning and to have the chance to look at some of their work.

Well done to all of the children that completed homework last term, we were really impressed with how creative you were and how hard you all worked. For those of you who were unable to attend on Wednesday, please take a look at the home learning page as we have put some pictures on there for you to see.

Thank you again to those of you who completed the parent survey, we really appreciate your feedback. We have been reviewing the responses and have put together a 'you said, we will' letter which we will send home on Monday. We hope you will find our responses reassuring. If after the letter you do have any feedback please do not hesitate to come and speak to a member of SLT on the gate at the start or end of the day.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Bradley was selected to play against Ipswich Town for his team Maidstone Utd on Monday as part of a pro fixture for their team to celebrate the men’s team game against Ipswich in the FA cup.

The men’s team won 2-1 as did Brad's team in their main match against the Ipswich Town under 8 team.

They played 2 other matches against other Ipswich town teams and won all 3 games.  Bradley scored 4 goals across the games and 1 in the main game.  He was also awarded ‘Man of the Match’ for the whole day's fixtures from his coach.

As infants, we all rely completely on adults to help us resolve situations that are causing us to become upset or stressed. This is known as co-regulation. The next phase, once autonomy has begun to develop, is called self-regulation: this is when children start to become capable of exercising more control over their impulses and behaviour, and managing their own emotions.

This vital developmental milestone, however, isn’t reached spontaneously. Learning to self-regulate requires sensitive guidance from trusted adults – simply talking with children about their thoughts and feelings, for instance, can ease the route to self-regulation. This #WakeUpWednesday guide has some expert tips for supporting children to reach this goal.
