Charlton Athletic vs Peteborough 13.01.24

Charlton Athletic vs Peterborough United:

On Saturday, a group of children, parents and staff made their way to the Valley, home of Charlton Athletic, to watch them play Peterborough United in a League One encounter. The excitement was palpable as kick off approached, with everyone impressed by the stadium, and the children buzzing at the prospect of having their photo with the clubs mascots.

It is fair to say that the first half was a little one-sided, with very little cheering for us as Peterborough dominated the ball and took a 1-0 lead at the break. However, at the start of the second half, we soon had something to shout about as Charlton equalised, as they came out playing better football, creating multiple chances which they just couldn't convert. By now, we were really enjoying ourselves but unfortunately, Peterborough scored a second goal. Despite increased pressure, Charlton couldn't find another goal and so Peterborough ran out 2-1 winners, much to the delight of Mr Dix!

Despite the scoreline, we had an enjoyable time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. For many of us, it was great to see our first ever live game of football, even if it it was a defeat! A fantastic experience! A superb day!

A very happy Mr Dix at full time!
