Principal's Message
It's been lovely to have the children back in school this week and it sounds as though everyone enjoyed the 2 week half-term. Starting next week, we have 5 weeks before the Christmas break and we need to fit lots into these weeks - including another inquiry, performances, phonics events and not to mention seasonal celebrations. We have most things in the diary already, so please do keep an eye on the key dates section of the newsletter.
Thank you to all of the parents who came to our open afternoon on Wednesday. If you were unable to come, please find the termly overview here.
Today, we participated in Remembrance Day assemblies delivered by Reverend Nicky in school and at the church. Classes also produced some thoughtful work which we hope you were able to see at today’s Poppy Walk. Thank you for all your generous donations this week to the Poppy Appeal, it is very much appreciated.

Office Messages
Braiswick Photographic will be in school on Monday 20th November 2023 for individual and sibling photos. Please ensure all children are in full uniform and wearing a cardigan/jumper with the academy logo on. As with previous years, parents are invited to bring younger siblings (not attending school) to the hall at the end of the school day and the photographers will take photos of full sibling groups.
Please may we remind parents of our policy on dogs. They are not to be on school grounds at any time. This applies at drop-off, pick-up and all other times of the school day.
National Online Safety
You might know Five Nights at Freddy’s by reputation, even if your child has never actually played the game. Via playground rumours and circulated footage on platforms like YouTube, this 12-rated survival horror series (so far comprising nine games, several spin-off novels and a movie adaptation) has become possessed of a certain cult status among far younger players.
Whether the initial interest is sparked by peer pressure or morbid curiosity, this spooky saga of things that go bump in the night seems to resonate with many pre-teen gamers. However, as our #WakeUpWednesday guide explains, the sinister characters, unrelenting sense of tension and some disturbing themes are all potential hazards that parents and carers should be aware of.
