Young Voices

Marden School Choir

On Monday 23rd January, a very excited group of children (and adults!) boarded the coach for an experience of a lifetime to perform at the Young Voices concert at the O2 in London, along with over 9,000 primary school-aged children.

Upon arrival, our thoughts turned to food and after our picnic, we were able to go to our seats inside the arena. Before long, rehearsals began. We spent the afternoon perfecting our vocals for the various harmonies and part singing, led by a live band, professional singers, dancers, beatboxers and the wonderful conductor & director: David Lawrence.

Our anticipation grew and after our picnic supper (more food), the audience arrived, the lights went down and the show began in all its splendour. The thrill (and noise) of the concert was unforgettable; we are so proud of our Marden children for pouring their heart and soul into their performance, as well as behaving impeccably during what was an extremely long day.

Heartfelt thanks to our parents, friends & families for all your support and encouragement.

Afternoon rehearsals were nearly as much fun as the evening performance!
