Principal's Message

It was wonderful to see all of the families at the parent consultations this week. I'm sure you will agree that we have a lot to be proud of.

As we enter 2023, we would like to welcome a number of new members of staff to Marden; Mrs Gautier in 3/4Cedar, Miss Page and Mrs Hill in 1Spruce, Miss Cordner and Mr Thorne in Oak, Miss Mulholland as Lunchtime Supervisor and in After School Club and Miss Baldwin as a Lunchtime Supervisor. We would also like to congratulate Mr Dix on the safe arrival of baby Henry and thank him for coming in to do the parent consultations whilst on paternity leave.

We have worked really hard to build this great team at Marden and I am confident that all our new additions will help us to have a really successful 2023.

Mr N Dosad

Spring Term After School Clubs

This is a reminder to parents that after-school clubs start on Monday 16th January. All clubs finish at 4.15pm and children will be released to parents from the KS1 playground.

Spaces are still available and these can be booked via the 'Clubs' section of the MCAS app. If a club is full, you will be given the option of adding your child to a waiting list and we will notfy you if a space becomes available.

Please ensure children have PE kits in school for all sports-related clubs.

Speech and Language Support

An Advice Line was opened in September 2022 to parents who want advice from a Speech and Language Therapist, a Physiotherapist or an Occupational Therapist about any child not currently known to the Kent Children's Therapies Service. The clinicians are able to provide you with advice, sign-posting to further information, or may recommend a referral for a fuller assessment.

The Advice Line number is 0300 123 7004.

It's open Monday to Friday between the following times:

Speech and Language Therapy - 10.00-12.00 and 13.30-15.30

Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy - 9.30-12.00 and 14.00-16.30

National Online Safety

A free online safety guide on World of Warcraft.

World of Warcraft originally launched way back in 2004, and since then the game has blossomed into a major entertainment property. It’s spawned spin-off novels, merchandise and even a Hollywood movie adaptation … but why are we still talking about it in 2023? World of Warcraft’s most recent iteration, Dragonflight, launched last November and marks the game’s ninth major expansion. This latest addition has attracted a whole host of lapsed players back to the game – as well as newcomers jumping into the realm of Azeroth for the first time.

In the guide, you'll find tips on a number of potential risks such as the potential for online addiction, in-game purchases and simulated violence.
