Principal's Message
It was a pleasure to welcome the children back to school this week and to see so many parents and carers attend our open event on Wednesday at the end of the school day. We hope that you found it beneficial to have the opportunity to look at your child's book and see some of their learning.
As indicated in the key dates below, there are many exciting trips and events on the horizon. One such event is World Book Day, which will take place on the 9th of March. The children are invited to either dress up as a character from a book or to bring props that represent that character. We anticipate that this will be an enjoyable occasion for all of the children involved.
We have observed that a significant number of parents have begun to drive into our school car park. We kindly request that you refrain from doing so, as the available spaces are limited and designated for staff use. Additionally, due to ongoing building work, we are experiencing a high volume of large vehicles entering and exiting the car park, necessitating that access remains available at all times. Your cooperation in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Mrs Willis, who has been supporting in Year 2 and Late Stay, will sadly be leaving us today. We would like to thank her for everything she has done during her time here at Marden and wish her the very best for the future.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
Mrs H Penning

Adult animated content is increasingly visible on platforms such as YouTube, TikTok and streaming services. While the bright visuals and cartoon style may seem harmless at first glance, many of these shows and clips are created specifically for mature audiences, featuring strong language, sexual references, graphic violence and unsettling themes.
This #WakeUpWednesday guide helps parents and educators understand the risks, from misleading visuals and algorithm-driven recommendations to desensitisation and edgy humour. It also offers practical advice on platform settings, open conversations and building children’s critical thinking, so young people can navigate online animation safely and confidently.
