Principal's Message
I am delighted to share some wonderful updates from another busy week at Leigh Academy Marden. Year 6 had an exciting trip to the building site of our new school, where they experienced firsthand the progress being made. Not only are they the first ones to enter the building, but they also received a goody bag and a talk from the site team. The visit was timely as the children are currently inquiring into architecture.
Meanwhile, Year 4 engaged in friendship workshops, exploring what makes a good friend and learning effective listening skills. They also discussed strategies for navigating friendship challenges. The children could talk about how the strategies they have learnt will support them in the future.
In Year 1, the children organised a delightful party as part of their learning about celebrations. The children used their design technology skills to make fruit skewers for the party too. The senior leadership team were lucky enough to be invited and spent the afternoon dancing and playing party games.
Additionally, Year 6 visited the local library, where they immersed themselves in a world of books, sparking their imaginations and love for reading.
This week is Road Safety Week. During our assembly, the children remembered the rules for crossing the road and how to stay safe in the car by ensuring they wear a seatbelt.
Have a lovely weekend.
