Principal's Message
This week, Year 4 went on a walk around Marden as part of their inquiry into local geography. Despite the wet weather conditions, the children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were able to capture photographs that will also serve as valuable resources for their digital computing work.
Looking ahead, we are excited to announce that next Thursday will feature our Valentine’s Discos, organised by the PTA. EYFS and KS1 disco will take place from 3:30pm to 4:30pm, followed by the KS2 disco from 4:45pm to 5:45pm. Tickets for this can be purchased via the MCAS app. We anticipate that this event will provide an enjoyable experience for the children and serve as a fitting way to end the term.
Please be reminded that the last day of term is next Thursday 12th February, as we have an inset day scheduled for Friday 13th February.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Super Stars @ Marden
A massive well done to Verity, who competed in her first dance competition of the season last weekend with Maidstone Dance Studios! 🏆
Her groups performed brilliantly, bringing home two 1sts and a 2nd. Even more excitingly, the whole school won the Highest Scoring School award for the entire weekend!
Representing their team in Canterbury last weekend, Edith and Iris worked incredibly hard and walked away having had a fantastic tournament.
Children and young people are increasingly turning to social media for mental health advice, but much of what they encounter online is unverified, oversimplified or misleading. This guide explores why platforms like TikTok and Instagram have become go-to sources, and how misuse of clinical language and viral trends can distort children and young people’s understanding of mental health.
Aimed at parent and educators, it offers clear, expert-led strategies to counter misinformation. The guide looks at topics such as encouraging open conversations, identifying reliable sources, and strengthening school–home collaboration. Use this information to build young people’s critical thinking, resilience and confidence in seeking appropriate professional help when needed.
