COVID-19 GRADING POLICY

Mardan School moved to a distance learning model on March 17, 2020 due to state and health department recommendations surrounding COVID-19. As such, we have revised our grading policy to best serve the needs of our students during this unique situation.

Grades K-6

Students in kindergarten through grade 6 will not receive traditional report cards for the Spring Semester 2020. Teachers will write a narrative report that documents what material and content was addressed and a summary of student participation throughout the semester.

Grades 7-12

Students in grades 7 through 12 will continue to work toward letter grades throughout distance learning. The grades they receive on assignments will be added to the average they had prior to closure to calculate a final semester grade (A-D) . Students who have not completed sufficient work to pass a class, will receive an INCOMPLETE on their report card. They will have an opportunity to turn in missing assignments to earn full credit for the class during ESY or upon return to campus.

High School students who have not participated in distance learning will receive a letter grade based upon the work completed prior to school closure and will accordingly receive 2.5 credits per course for the semester.
