ABOUT

Hi, I'm Monika!

My involvement with technology and social media training started when I had a chance to coordinate a project that allowed me to go out to the field and train adult educators to get more tech savvy.

This joy of meeting and helping people, getting them comfortable with technology and witnessing their 'aha' moments, combined with my love for graphic design and photography, brought me here.

By providing face-to-face and online training and support, I am helping entrepreneurs and small business become more tech and web savvy, while learning with them as well.

I strongly believe that 'actions speak louder than words'...

I have a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Ryerson University, Certificate in Adult and Learning Development Program from OISE at University of Toronto and a Digital Publishing Certificate from George Brown College. There is a much longer list of certificates, courses and training (I even studied to become a fashion designer), but it all really comes down to lifelong learning and the experience we gain when working with others, eh...

For more than 20 years, I have been involved in the Literacy and Basic Skills education field where I travel, connect with, and train instructors to make them more comfortable with technology. As part of my job, I explore new tech trends and tools to see if, and how, they could be used by community programs, school boards and colleges to teach adults effectively.

For a long time, I was also responsible for marketing collateral, promotions, outreach, events, website management and social media.

It's through my work, volunteering and personal experiences that I discovered the joys of helping, sharing, teaching and learning with others.

My office assistant Jesse

Occasionally, you might meet my cat Jesse (named after a character from Breaking Bad), who keeps me company by loudly snoring most of the day, messing up my printouts, and ensuring that I take breaks by jumping on the desk and demanding attention at the most odd and inconvenient times (for example during zoom calls with clients!).
