Students can apply for a STEAM Certificate to be issued at graduation. Students need to earn 38 points that can come from a variety of places such as STEAM classes, clubs, internships, honor societies and community service. At the end of their senior year they will be required to create a final capstone as their senior project. Students will work with an adviser and guidance to make sure they are on track to receive the certificate. Students may also propose to take/include courses not listed that strongly support/connect to their capstone project.
Minimum points per letters S (5) T (5) E (5) A(5) M (5) +15 more points+3 points for capstone (senior project)
For courses, course credits = points (i.e. 5 credits = 5 points)
The capstone project will be accomplished during senior project and will be awarded 3 points.
Extra curricular STEAM-related clubs, teams or other approved activities: 2 points maximum over 4 years (1 point per club per year)
At the completion of the program, students must apply for a certificate by completing the STEAM certificate application by the end of quarter 3. with their adviser.
