This year, our theme was developed in partnership with the Twin Peaks K–8 Literacy Night, highlighting a shared commitment to the full spectrum of literacy. Together, we emphasized that literacy extends beyond reading and writing—it also includes the powerful skills of speaking and listening.
We’re proud that our TED-Ed Student Talks have been officially incorporated into Literacy Night, giving students a meaningful platform to share their voices. Inspired by the event’s playful “Picnic and Bugs” theme, our club explored the idea that every bug—big or small—plays an important role in the picnic ecosystem.
That idea sparked a deeper conversation: just like those bugs, every student has the power to make a difference. After reviewing and discussing several AI-generated ideas, our students chose the theme Purposeful Impact. It reflects their belief that what they have to say matters—and that their ideas, stories, and passions can truly make a lasting impression on their audience.
