TEDEd at Twin Peaks began as an initiative to amplify student voices. Noticing many powerful perspectives were going unheard, we created a space where students could use their voices to make a meaningful impact. Serving our K–8 community, learners in grades three through eight were invited to share their ideas and participate. The TEDEd Team launched an after-school club and a semester elective to provide time, guidance, and feedback so students could deepen their passions and develop ideas worth spreading.
"If you struggle with speaking but want to get better, give it a try. It might sound scary at first, but you'll only be able to improve like you want to if you just give the elective a chance. Everyone is supportive, and there will be enough time for you to memorize --- there are even multiple different ways you could. So as long as you focus and do your work, you will be alright." - TEDEd elective student
Joining the global TED community network, our TEDEd Club and Elective this school year was the first in the Tucson area for K-8 schools. Our K-8 community joins a larger network of students from local universities in Arizona, TEDX events, and other students from around the world!
