The War in Vietnam

The memories and horrors of the War in Vietnam still linger for many Americans, especially for that generation that participated in the conflict. It is hoped that this timeline as well as the descriptions, stories and artifacts displayed in this room will provide you with a "snapshot" of the courage and dedication of a generation of young Americans. While this timeline cannot hope to cover all of the events or military operations that occurred during these years, it will provide a sampling of some of the major events.

It should also remind us of how war, particularly this war, divides a Nation. Like other wars, Vietnam should be looked at, not as an isolated event in history, but as part of a larger picture. This timeline attempts to examine not only the conflict in Vietnam, but what was happening in the United States and in the world during the same period.
