About

Mrs. Emily Bonack is originally from a small farming town outside of Stevens Point with a population of roughly 500 people. She is the daughter of a OBGYN nurse practioner and a farmer--so she has observed career success for those who are college bound and for those who are trade inclined. Her teaching mission includes preparing both kinds of students for an adult-world where they must be able to communicate effectively in writing and speaking the English language.

Mrs. Bonack graduated from the University of Wisconsin--Stevens Point in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in English Education.

She lives on a small hobby farm in Merrill with her husband, who is the street superintendent for the City of Merrill, their 6 year-old son, 2 year-old daughter, and German Shorthair puppy, Ruby.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading with a large cup of coffee and fuzzy slippers on, watching "Fixer-Upper" type shows and dreaming of transforming her 110-year-old farmhouse, keeping the container industry in business by obsessively organizing her home and classroom, running--very slowly, with very loud music, and spending quality time with her giant extended family of roughly 40 aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, and siblings.

Mrs. Bonack's favorite thing about being a teacher is making positive connections with Merrill's students and the other MAPS employees. In fact, she moved her entire family over county lines so that she could reside in the great community that she teaches in.

Mrs. Bonack teaches English 9 and AP-Lang
