Maple Dale-Indian Hill School District
The district will allow small groups of visitors into the school. To start the year, the district will not likely have larger group activities inside the building. The district reserves the right to limit visitors throughout the year due to increased risk factors.
The MDIH School District will follow guidance from the CDC on health and safety, including recommendations regarding face coverings. Consistent with these recommendations, masks should be worn indoors by all individuals (age 2 and older) who are not fully vaccinated. Exceptions will be allowed in accordance with a child’s documented medical condition. Once age levels are eligible for vaccinations, face coverings will be optional 6 weeks after they are eligible in order to allow individuals the time to become fully vaccinated.
The use of a face covering will be “normalized” this school year. If your child shows symptoms of being sick, our first step should always be to keep the child at home until they are symptom free for 24 hours. Upon returning to school, a family may consider having their child wear a mask. If a child becomes symptomatic while at school, we will ask the child to wear a mask until the parent is able to come pick them up from school. The only time the school would discuss with a family the removal of a mask would be if the mask became a deterrent to the education of the child or the children around them.
**Note: The wearing of a face covering on school buses continues to be required by federal regulations.
A student who needs to to be quarantined for 8, 10 or 14-days due to close contact with a positive COVID-19 case will be able to access asynchronous remote learning during that time in 2nd through 8th grade using Google Classroom. This will be the only asynchronous instruction provided by the Maple Dale-Indian Hill School District. If a positive case of COVID-19 occurs, any person (staff or student) who has been within 3 feet of the positive case for 15 or more cumulative minutes may be quarantined for 8, 10, or 14 days UNLESS:
The person is fully vaccinated
The school will not require proof of vaccination and will trust a parent/guardian to communicate to the school whether or not their child is fully vaccinated during a “close contact” conversation.
The person has had COVID-19 in the past 90 days
Both the close contact and positive case are fully masked
Maple Dale's bell schedule has been updated, with our school day now running from 8:30 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. The student office will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
We will resume our drop off and pick up locations from the end of the year last year. Students riding the bus will be dropped off in front of the school and picked up on Dean Rd. Students arriving in cars should be dropped off on the basketball court next to the lower parking lot. Cars will pull into the parking lot and traffic will flow to the drop off area next to the sidewalk leading up to the school. Students may start arriving at Maple Dale at 8:00 a.m.
You can view our drop off plan here and our pick up plan here.
Maple Dale has undergone many updates this summer and we are looking forward to sharing them with you!
