Synopsis:
Disney's Newsies JR. is a 60-minute version of the 2012 Broadway musical, based on the 1992 film. Inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York City, Newsies JR. features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein.
When powerful newspaper publishers raise prices at the newsboys' expense, the charismatic Jack Kelly rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions. Together, the newsies learn that they are stronger united and create a movement to fight for what's right.
Including the now-classic songs "Carrying the Banner," "Seize the Day," and "Santa Fe," Newsies JR. is a timeless story full of spirit and heart.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals are held Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays from November to March
(This rehearsal process is slightly longer so that we can buffer any potential snow days!)
Rehearsals run from 2pm-3:30pm.
The late bus can only be used in case of emergency! Alternate transportation is required.
Not all students are called to every rehearsal. We supply monthly rehearsal calendars so that students know when they need to stay after for the whole month.
3 unexcused absences will result in your removal from the show. Please make sure a parent/guardian lets Mr. McCrossan & Mrs. Strunin know if you are going to miss a rehearsal so that we can count it as excused!
*Office Detentions are NOT excused absences!*
Tech rehearsals and performances are MANDATORY for all cast and crew . No Exceptions.
This year, tech rehearsals will occur:
Monday, March 13th: 2:30pm-6pm
Tuesday, March 14th: 2:30pm-6pm
Wednesday, March 15th: 2:30pm-6pm
As you see, tech rehearsals run from 2:30-6pm. From 2-2:30, students can join us in the auditorium, or they can stay on team for extra help or attend other club meetings until 2:30. Students will have from 2:30-3pm to get into costume/hair/makeup/mics, then we usually begin our tech run by 3:15.
We work very hard to make sure we are ready to dismiss right at 6pm!
