Show Information:
Come along and listen to the lullaby of Broadway! 42nd Street School Edition is a one hour adaptation of the original 42nd Street, celebrating Broadway, Times Square and the magic of show biz with wit, humor and pizzazz!
At the height of the Great Depression, aspiring chorus girl Peggy Sawyer comes to Broadway from Allentown, PA, and soon lands her first big job in the ensemble of a glitzy new Broadway show called Pretty Lady (yes, this is a show within a show!!). But just before opening night, the leading lady breaks her ankle.
Will Peggy be able to step in and become a star? The book is packed with many excellent leading and supporting roles! The score is chock-full of Broadway standards, including "You're Getting To Be A Habit With Me," "We're In the Money," "Lullaby of Broadway," "Shuffle Off to Buffalo" and "Forty-Second Street."
42nd Street does have TAP DANCING in it! No tap experience? No worries! Part of the rehearsal process will be tap lessons with Mr. McCrossan!
Rehearsals
Rehearsals will begin in January, 2024!!!
Rehearsals are held Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays from January to May
Rehearsals run from 2pm-3:30pm.
The late bus can only be used in case of emergency! Alternate transportation is required.
Not all students are called to every rehearsal. We supply monthly rehearsal calendars so that students know when they need to stay after for the whole month.
3 unexcused absences will result in your removal from the show. Please make sure a parent/guardian lets Mr. McCrossan & Mr. Graham know if you are going to miss a rehearsal so that we can count it as excused!
Tech rehearsals and performances are MANDATORY.

Wednesday, May 8th
Tech rehearsals run from 2:30-6pm. From 2-2:30, students can join us in the auditorium, or they can stay on team for extra help or attend other club meetings until 2:30. Students will have from 2:30-3pm to get into costume/hair/makeup/mics, then we usually begin our tech run by 3:15.
We work very hard to make sure we are ready to dismiss right at 6pm!
