Head Coach: Kevin Smith

Coach Smith now holds a 202-103-66 career record with the girls. His win percentage and total wins 1st all time in program history. 2023 was a historic season for the girls team as they won the State Sectional Championship for the first time ever and advanced to the State Finals for the first time in program history. The team's 17 wins was the highest win total in program history as well. He was recently named the 2023 Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) and the 2023 National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) Massachusetts Girls Soccer Coach of the Year. He was also named the 2023 NFHS Section 1 (NJ, NY, CT, RI, MA, NH, ME, VT) Girls Soccer Coach of the Year and the 2023 Boston Globe Division 2 Girls Soccer Coach of the Year. In 2018, Coach Smith was named the Competitive Coach of the Year by the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association and the Eastern United States Competitive Coach of the Year by the US Youth Soccer Association. He has been named Coach of the Year in 2016 by HockomocksSports.com and Eastern Massachusetts Coach of the Year in 2015 by the Eastern Mass Girls Soccer Coaches Association.

Coach Smith has mentored many of his student-athletes to achieve league, area and state recognition. Over 50 girls have been named to the Hockomock All League 1st team, 29 to the Eastern Massachusetts All Star team, 8 to the All State Team and 2 to the All New England Team. Two of his players have been named Hockomock League MVP - Hannah Reiter  and Allison Nagle. Hannah was also named HockomockSports.com MVP in 2016. Numerous student-athletes have continued their playing careers collegiately at schools such as University of Central Connecticut, UMass Amherst, Providence College, Harvard University, Quinnipiac College, U. of Rhode Island, St Anselm's College, Stonehill College, Bridgewater State University, Framingham State University, Simmons College, UMASS Dartmouth, Endicott College, and Fitchburg State University.

Coach Smith holds a USSF B License, a NSCAA Advanced National Coaching Diploma, the TOVO V1 diploma, the Coerver International Youth Coaching Diploma, and the NSCAA GK Level 1 Diploma. Coach Smith spent 5 years as the assistant varsity boys coach at MHS and was part of the staff that turned the boys program into perennial league and sectional contenders. 

Coach Smith directs the Hornets Soccer Camp and Clinics which sees almost 200 kids yearly through their camps and clinics . Coach Smith is also a coach for the Massachusetts Olympic Development Program (ODP).  His 2018 U17 Girls ODP team won the US Youth Soccer East Regional Championship. Coach Smith's 2018 U17 and 2019 U18 Boys Nova Premier SC teams won back to back Massachusetts State Cups.  He has coached 25 girls and 10 boys who have earned positions on the USYSA ODP East Regional Teams.  

Prior to coming to MHS, Coach Smith spent 2 years coaching at perennial state powerhouse New Providence HS, NJ and 2 years at Northern Valley Regional HS at Old Tappan.

Coach Smith's playing career includes four years at Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey) where he played in 2 NCAA Final Fours, 1 NCAA Championship game, and 3 NCAA Regional Finals. He was named to the Adidas NCAA Regional Academic All American team in 1994.

His semipro career saw him play 1 year for the German American Kickers Soccer Club and 4 years in the NJ Champions League for the Lotto Real Wyckoff Soccer Club where they won the NJ State Amateur Championship 4 years in a row and advanced to the National Amateur Cup Regional Finals twice and Regional Semifinals twice. 

Varsity Assistant Coach/Goalkeeper Coach - Robert MacDonald-Smith

Coach Mac is a graduate of Mansfield High School where he starred as the goalkeeper for the first ever boys team to win the Hockomock League title. He holds most of the program's records for goalkeeping.  Coach Mac graduated from Providence College and now teaches Social Studies at MHS. Coach MacDonald was inducted to the Mansfield High School Athletics Hall of Fame for Boys Soccer in 2023. 

Junior Varsity Coach - Kevin Kemp

Coach Kemp is a resident of Mansfield with many years of coaching experience. His three daughters have all graduated from MHS and are alumni of the girl soccer program. Coach Kemp is also an assistant girls basketball coach and an assistant baseball coach at MHS.

Freshmen Coach - Aaron Salter

Coach Salter is the Director of Coaching for Mansfield Youth Soccer and NEFC. He holds a USSF C license. Coach Salter played semi-professionally in England. 

Volunteer Assistant Coach - Mario Harrison

Coach Harrison is a former professional player in England and has been capped numerous times with the Jamaican National team. Coach Harrison currently works in the Mansfield Public School system.
