Located in the village of Columbus, John Hydock Elementary School has long been an integral part of education in Mansfield Township.

In order to meet the needs of all students, teachers at JHES utilize differentiated instruction and cutting-edge technology to implement lessons in reading, writing, standards-based mathematics, and other curricular programs. 

JHES is truly a "learning school," where students are provided with a variety of learning experiences, and likewise, teachers are given the opportunity to enhance their skills through professional development programs.

We pride ourselves on using the Responsive Classroom philosophy that allows for the development of the whole child through classroom and whole school morning meetings, the use of logical consequences, and the idea that students need to have their social/emotional needs met in order to be successful academically.
