Weeks of: December 1- December 5
Language: *We have completed all cursive letters- students will be focusing on reviewing letters, writing names in cursive and words. Students will continue to review nouns, verbs, adjectives, and will be introducing pronouns and adverbs.
Students will be working on compound sentences as well. This next unit will have them working on r-controlled vowels, and the spelling patterns for /e/.
Amplify: Unit 4: The Ancient Roman Civilization
In this unit, students will be introduced to background knowledge of Ancient Roman Civilization. Students will be reading different stories describing historical events and culture of the ancient Roman civilization. Students will read the legend of Romulus and Remus and the founding of Rome. They will also read about Roman gods and goddesses.
Math: Standard: Unknown number in a division problem
Level 1: connect division with a model
Level 2: solve division as an uknown factor problem
Level 3: determine the unknown number in a multiplication or division problem
Writing: We are now moving into opinion (persuasive) writing. Students will be following the same model using TIDE. They will need to give their opinion- state reasons with details to back up their reasons.
Science:
Social Studies: Students will be completing the mapping skills this week. They will be asked to create a map of the classroom- including a key. Students will also be retaking the post assessment for the map vocabulary.
