She started learning music at the age of 4 years from Smt. Phool Devi in a small village of Barpeta Road Assam. Later on she learnt Classical Hindustani Music from Guru Sh. Pradeep Mishraji and completed Visharad under the guidance of Pt. Siben Banerjee. She sings Assamese, Hindi and Bengali songs. Rashmi did her Post Graduate in Applied Mathematics from Amethi University Kolkata.

She has won the several competitions and awards from her schools and youth festivals of University. She is special awardee of the Indian Railway’s National Singing Competition 2016.

She is playback singer of Assamese Films. In the recent, title song of Lakhimi Film was debuted by Reshmi Rekha Devi.
