I am the proud principal of Decker Middle School Fine Arts Academy. I began my career in education after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin. As a teacher, I taught 7th and 8th grade science and coached volleyball. I became an assistant principal at the same school where I was a teacher before coming to Manor ISD. In Manor ISD, I have served as early childhood coordinator, assistant principal (at elementary, middle and high schools), and principal at the alternative high school, Manor Excel Academy. This is my 5th year as principal at Decker Middle School and I absolutely love serving our community.

As Principal, I am proud to devote my work to the school and district’s mission. The mission of Decker Middle School is that we will build a community of lifelong learners who have a sense of pride and integrity, in a safe, welcoming, creative, and inclusive environment in order to be college and career-ready in today’s society.

The Raven Way is a movement at DMS where our core values live. These values include: scholars first, building strong, lasting relationships, every scholar having a sense of belonging, college, career, and military readiness, the arts and sustaining a strong climate and culture. We believe that if we can ensure that all students, parents, staff members and other stakeholders understand and take ownership of the Raven Way, our students will be well on their way to social and emotional growth and academic achievement!

At DMS, every scholars’ best interests come first, every single day and we believe that to be a Raven is to be a scholar!
