Special Events

Players and coaches dressed up in costumes for practice the Tuesday of Halloween week. We had lifeguards, dominoes, clowns, characters, athletes, and even a second coach Dixon.

Each year the varsity takes a two night camping trip at the end of the first week of practice. The girls cook all meals over the campfire, go hiking, swimming, have a spikeball tournament, and complete a team run. Its a great bonding experience!

As long as the we don't have a tournament, the volleyball team always travels together after practice on Friday nights to cheer on the football team - and they go all out on each week's student section theme.

Every year volleyball works together with FCCLA to host a Dig Pink/Dixonstrong event. The players sell t-shirts and FCCLA sells chocolate covered pretzels with all proceeds benefiting Aurora cancer care and the Dixonstrong scholarship.

Each varsity player invited a teacher that has impacted their life to attend the game vs. Sheboygan South this year. Teachers were recognized before the game and given a Ships volleyball t-shirt as thank you for their daily work and support of all students.

Each year all high school players have the opportunity to take a trip to Madison on a Sunday afternoon to watch the Badger volleyball team play. We finish the trip with a stop at Olive Garden and then head back home.

Before each conference game our awesome parents host team dinners for our girls to bond, eat, and enjoy each other's company. Thank you parents!!

Each year the volleyball team puts together a float for the homecoming parade. This year's theme was "Crash the SHIPS into DePERE" complete with a ship and two redbirds.
