If you’re just getting started with the Mango Curriculum, take a look at the Scope and Sequence to understand what’s coming in each chapter.
The Scope and Sequence shows the chapters included in each semester of the course sequence. For each chapter, it includes:
the estimated proficiency level
title/topic
essential question
cultural topics
communicative goals
grammar goals
interdisciplinary connections
Open the Curriculum Index that corresponds to the course you are teaching. You will see organized links to all of the materials you need to teach for the semester.
1. Open the Teacher Edition for the chapter
2. Review the cover page to give you a sense of what’s coming in the chapter
3. Review the pacing guide to get a more detailed breakdown of how the lessons for this chapter will fit into your upcoming weeks
You’ve made a plan for your semester and you know what’s coming for the chapter you’re about to teach. Now it’s time to start teaching!
Skim the lesson plan to get a general idea of the following:
How many class periods will this cover?
What activities are coming?
Which ones will you do in class?
Will you assign any as homework?
Will you use any as assessments?
Do you want to change the order at all?
Do you need to make any modifications for your class?
What materials/prep do you need? Do you need to print anything?
