The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) is an initiative of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) to systematically foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in higher education institutions across India, The IIC at our institution acts as a pivotal platform to engage faculty, students, and staff in innovation-driven activities, supporting the entire lifecycle from ideation to startup launch.

Promote innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking across all academic levels
Facilitate access to technical resources, mentorship, and funding for innovators
Bridge the gap between academia, industry, and government for holistic startup support
Nurture student startups to become self-sustaining and market-ready
Innovation Challenges & Hackathons: Regular idea competitions, problem-solving events, and hackathons to spark creativity
Startup Bootcamps & Workshops: Hands-on training in business model development, design thinking, and prototyping
Mentorship & Networking: Connect innovators with industry experts, alumni entrepreneurs, and financial advisors
Incubation & Pre-Incubation: Support for early-stage ideas, including workspace, technical facilities, and business guidance
IPR & Legal Support: Guidance on intellectual property rights, patent filing, and compliance
Community Engagement: Outreach, seminars, and innovation day celebrations to build a thriving entrepreneurial culture
Incubation Space: Dedicated co-working and meeting rooms for startup teams
Prototyping Labs: Access to fabrication labs (FAB labs), design and dies labs, and rapid prototyping tools
Technology Infrastructures: High-speed internet, video conferencing, and digital collaboration platforms
Specialized Equipment: Advanced tools and machinery for product development; new equipment can be procured as needed
Resource Sharing: Use of existing institute labs and facilities for startup R&D
Seed Funding: Guidance and facilitation for applying to government seed funds (e.g., DST, Startup India Seed Fund, AIM, MeitY, DBT, NIDHI-TBI)
Grant Writing: Support for preparing proposals for DST and other funding agencies
Investor Connect: Pitching events and introductions to angel investors, VCs, and industry partners
Startup Recognition: Assistance with MSME and DPIIT registration for eligible startups
Sustainability Focus: Encouragement and support for startups to achieve self-sustainability and scale up through diverse funding sources
Leadership: Headed by the Institute’s senior management, with a core team of faculty, student leaders, and external advisors
Advisory Panel: Includes patent experts, alumni entrepreneurs, industry representatives, startup ecosystem experts, financial/investor advisors, and DST/MIC representatives
Performance Monitoring: Annual review of activities and outcomes- funding and support are performance-based
Students and faculty can join innovation cells, participate in events, and propose ideas for incubation
Industry experts and alumni are invited to mentor, invest, and collaborate on projects
Startups can apply for incubation, funding, and technical support through the IIC portal
