The Mechanical Engineering department started in the year 2004, offers 2undergraduate (B. Tech.) and postgraduate (M. Tech.) programs. The annual intake of the B. Tech. program is 60 students in Mechanical Engineering and that of the M. Tech. is 18. From 2024 academic year onwardsstarted one more B-Tech batch of 60 studentsin Safety and Fire Engineering
The department provides its students an environment that stimulates their intellectual growth and personality development. Infrastructure facilities are excellent with well-equipped labs, classrooms and libraries. The newly created CAD/CAM lab has state of the art CNC machine and softwares like Solid Works, Sold Edge,Unigraphics NX Cam Express etc.Training programs conducted for the B. Tech. students throughout the course of their study by the Placement and Training Cell of our college and prepares them for a smooth transition from academia to the industry. Our students have secured very good results in the University examinations, and they regularly participate in inter collegiate technical and cultural events.

Message from HOD
Mechanical engineering is a discipline of engineering that applies the principles of physics and materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. Many mechanical engineering companies have begun to incorporate various automated technologies and have changed the whole perception about Mechanical Engineering. Some of the examples are given below:
Mechanical Engineering is often rated as strongly male dominated field. But with the introduction of the above mentioned new fields in mechanical engineering bring more and more females attracted to take this course. Diversity, whether gender, ethnicity, or geography, brings more creativity and innovation to a team. When there is gender diversity on a team rather than a single gender, most likely one can see a tremendous improvement in the outcomes. Hope to see a drastic increase of female intake in mechanical engineering branch shortly.
As HOD, I wish to take this opportunity to assure you that I will try my best to maximize student participation in the department and will keep the administration transparent.
