Join Mangahigh's Maths Week Scotland 2023 Competition and learn maths by playing cool arcade-style games and answering thousands of word problems using adaptive quizzes.
Students earn points by completing maths activities, and go in the draw to win awesome prizes.
All students will receive a certificate and earn entries into the draw based on their achievement. Every 10 points earned receives 1 entry. For example, a student that has earned 30 points on Mangahigh during Maths Week Scotland receives 3 entries into the draw.
Encourage your students to complete as many assigned, recommended or freeplay activities and earn medal points. There are 5 x £25 vouchers up for grabs in the draw!
How to succeed in the challenge:
Students will have access to 1000+ mathematics and computational thinking activities
Students successfully complete activities to earn 'points'. Achieving a Bronze standard earns 1 medal point, a Silver standard earns 2 medal points, and a Gold standard earns 3 medal points.
Students accumulate the required amount of points from 25 September to 1 October 2023, to receive a certificate, and a chance to WIN 1 of 5 x £25 Amazon vouchers
GAMES: Help develop fluency skills through repetition that incrementally get harder
PRODIGI ADAPTIVE QUIZZES: Word problems that help students deepen their mathematical understanding and reasoning
POINTS SYSTEM: Students accumulate a minimum of 10 points between 15 September to 1 October 2023. Every Bronze medal achieved adds 1 point, every Silver medal achieved adds 2 points and every Gold medal achieved adds 3 points.
RAFFLE DRAW: Once students accumulate 10 points, they earn 1 entry into the draw. 20 points earns 2 entries, 30 points earns 3 entries etc. Every 10 points achieved earns an additional entry to the draw - up to a maximum of 20 entries per student, with 200 points achieved. Winners for the raffles will be annouced by 8 October 2023. Only points earned between 25 September to 1 October 2023 will be included in the calculation of draw entries.
CERTIFICATE FOR ALL PARTICIPATING STUDENTS: All students that have earned 5+ points will receive a certificate detailing their Maths Week Scotland achievement statistics eg. number of activities completed, number of points achieved, number of entries earned etc.
ACCESS MANGAHIGH 24/7: We suggest allocating class time during Maths Week Scotland to complete activities on Mangahigh. However, students are encouraged to do more work, at home as well.
BRIDGE THOSE GAPS: If there are any areas of weaknesses in your student's maths skills, Maths Week Scotland is that extra incentive to do more work, while bridging any gaps in their learning. So talk to us about times table practise, or mastering mental maths etc.

Mangahigh's Maths Week Scotland Competition can help raise the profile of mathematics in their school. During Maths Week Scotland (25 September 2023 - 1 October 2023), students will be learning maths by completing fun-filled arcade-style maths games, and word problems on adaptive quizzes.
Warm up starts as soon as you sign up. Maths Week Scotland kicks off on 25 September and ends 1 October 2023.
Maths Week Scotland 2023 is open to all schools in Scotland. It is free to participate, and all students enrolled in a school are able to join. If you are new to Mangahigh, teachers will need to join their students using this form.
Once school is registration is complete, your Mangahigh account manager will email you the login details of all your students and teachers.
Teachers and students will have full access to Mangahigh from the day their account is created until shortly after the competition ends. So the sooner you register, the more time to explore and earn points on Mangahigh. However, only points earned between 25 September to 1 October 2023 will count towards the prize draw.
Existing Mangahigh students can continue to use Mangahigh with their existing login details.

Teachers use the REPORTS section on the Mangahigh teacher platform to track their students' overall points scored.
Students can track their own progress under 'MY PROGRESS' in their Mangahigh student platform.
All students get certificates and students that earn 10+ points, have a chance to win Amazon eGiftcard worth £25.

Points collected:
200+ points - 20 entries
10-19 points - 1 entry
20-29 points - 2 entries
30-39 points - 3 entries
Every 10 points earned gives an additional one entry.
How will the students get their certificate?
When the competition ends, students are awarded a certificate based on their achievement during Maths Week Scotland. Teachers will be emailed these certificates for distribution.
5 students will win a £25 Amazon voucher. Teachers will be informed if their students have won the voucher.
To participate in Mangahigh's Maths Week Scotland, your school must be in Scotland.
The Term of this Challenge will run from 25 September to 1 October 2023.
Only bona fide schools in Scotland are eligible to participate. Home schools or non-school organisations are not eligible.

Schools who are listed on the Mangahigh Hall of Fame cannot take part in Maths Week Scotland. Any school on the Mangahigh Hall of Fame that does take part irrespective of this, will not win any prizes.
Any foul play, cheating, or attempted manipulation of the results will result in a permanent exclusion of the offending school from the event. Mangahigh's judgement on this point will be final.
In the event of an exact tie, Mangahigh's judges will take into account school spirit, and the number of skills mastered per participating student, to determine a single winner. The judges' decision will be final.
The winning school will be announced by 8 October 2023. The winners will be notified by email.
By participating, the participants and winners agree to participate in such reasonable promotional activity and material as Mangahigh may require.

Mangahigh will offer full and unrestricted access to all participating schools for the duration of the competition.
The challenge will only run if there are a MINIMUM of 15 schools taking part. In an event that the challenge is cancelled, the school will be provided with 12 weeks full access to Mangahigh (valued at up to th £1000) in lieu of participating in the event.
A Mangahigh representative will contact you to deliver the prizes where geographically appropriate. Alternatively arrangement will be made to courier the prizes to the school.
Voucher prizes will be awarded to the school and it is the school Principal's choice as to how they wish to spend the money.
