Manaiakalani Kāhui Ako

We are a Kāhui Ako of 11 schools who share the vision to lead future focused learning in connected communities.

Our young people are actively involved, lifelong and literate learners who are confident and connected; ready for employment in tomorrow’s market and contributing positively to their community. Learners who are at home in the digital world...

The Manaiakalani Schools formally became a Ministry of Education Kāhui Ako in December 2016.  We have had very successful years subsequently, aligning our practice to the Kāhui Ako format.

The Manaiakalani Kāhui Ako PLG meets twice a term to connect Kanohi- ki-te-Kanohi to explore and strengthen our Teaching as Inquiry capability. View agendas and support for our inquiry process and reflections.

Teaching as Inquiry

Each year our Kāhui Ako Teachers model an exemplary Teaching as Inquiry cycle and share their progress publicly on their blog, at regular intervals. In November we come together for our annual Bursts and Bubbles where their Inquiry is shared as Impact Bursts in a panel setting. Kāhui Ako Teachers' PLG
