Your @man-adulted.org.uk account

As part of your studies with Manchester Adult Education, you will be provided with a Google Workspace for Education account so that you can use all of the MAES IT equipment and systems.

As soon as you have completed your enrolment, you will be given your college e-mail account. It would look like this:

######@man-adulted.org.uk

The first part is composed of 6 numbers (your student number) while the second part is made up of @man-adulted.org.uk.

Your teacher will also give you your password so that you can log in.

You will need to remember your e-mail account and password so that you can connect to your Google Classroom and other apps your teacher might ask you to use.

Your free wi-fi connection to MAES Public Wi-fi

You get free internet connection when you are in our centres.

To connect your mobile phone or any other personal devices to the wi-fi in our centres:

1  Go to the wi-fi or Network menu on your phone/tablet/laptop and add or search for maes_public

2  Connect to maes_public.

3  You will be asked to agree to the terms and conditions. To do this, simply click on the white box to say you agree.

4 You should now be connected to the internet.

Once you have done this you will be connected to this free wifi every time you visit a MAES centre (but you will need to agree to the Terms and Conditions from time to time).

Look for this wi-fi symbol on your personal device to start connecting to our free wi-fi.

Your free access to a Chromebook

In the classroom, you will be able to use a Chromebook to do class activities and other course requirements. You will not be able to take it home though.

You can do your studies at home using your smart phone and internet. If you do not have a smart phone and/or internet connection at home, speak to your teacher about it. You might be able to borrow a Chromebook and/or mobile wi-fi router to help you complete your assignments at home. If you do so, you MUST return the Chromebook before the course finishes or when you decide to leave your class.

A pile of Chromebooks

You can use a Chromebook when studying in our classrooms.
