The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an introductory qualification appropriate for people who would like to work or volunteer as teachers, tutors and trainers in Adult and Community Learning, Further Education and/or work-based training.
The course provides an introduction to teaching adult learners and covers:
the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer
planning and delivering inclusive sessions
assessing learning.
Through completing a pre-course assignment, you need to demonstrate that you have Level 2 English skills and that you have the digital skills required to participate in the course and complete assignments via Google Classroom.
The sessions will be delivered either in one of our venues or online, using Google Meet. You will access materials and complete assignments via Google Classroom. You will also need to observe an experienced teacher and deliver a short teaching session which can be either face to face or online.
You will need a smartphone, tablet, laptop or PC and a good internet connection to join the online sessions and/or access learning materials and resources between sessions. You will need access to a laptop or PC to complete assignments throughout the course
For each module, you will complete assignments that allow you to demonstrate your knowledge, skills and experience.
You will also be required to plan, deliver and evaluate a short teaching session in your chosen subject which will be assessed by a qualified tutor. This session will either be to other learners on your course or in a work or voluntary placement.
You will attend 48 hours of face to face or online sessions, observe an experienced teacher for at least 1 hour and deliver a teaching session for 1 hour.
