Meet the Teacher

Hello,  My name is Amilya Mathies. I am a Special Education teacher here at Malden R-1 School District. I grew up in Malden and graduated high school in 2008 from Malden High School. I moved away but returned back to Malden, MO in February 2019 when I began working at Malden Elementary. I graduated with my Masters in Education specializing in Special Education from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ and I am certified in Arizona and Missouri for Special Education K-12.  I am also the 5th & 6th grade Girls Basketball Head Coach and one of the Jr./Sr. High Track & Field Coaches.
