After School Program

We are excited to start the EXPLORE After School Adventures on September 20, 2021. All students in grades 1st-5th are invited to register and participate. Enrollment forms will be sent home at the end of the week, please have them turned into the office by Monday, September 13.

The program is set up to operate from 7:00-8:00 AM and 3:30-5:30 PM. The theme this year will be “THE SUPERHEROES: SCIENCE BEHIND SUPERPOWERS”. Students will fly alongside Superman, sling webs with Spider-Man and recognize real-life heroes of our world as we build, discuss and learn through hands-on building activities. Our goal is to help each student complete their homework, and provide any tutoring or help they may need. Homework help and a daily enrichment activity will both be offered for 45 minutes, and a nutritional snack will be provided. Please reach out with any questions.

Specials

We are fortunate at Malad Elementary to be able to offer different learning experiences to our students. All students in grades 1-5 get to attend three specials. These include music, computers, and library.

Kindergarten students attend library and music. The counselor also provides lessons to all classes on a monthly basis.

In music, kindergarten through third grade have the opportunity to play drums, handbells, orff instruments, lummi sticks, and boomwhackers. Fourth grade students learn how to play recorders and fifth grade students learn how to play ukuleles. All of the classes will participate in an "End of Year" program to celebrate all that they learned that school year.
