The purposefully broken games console...
Re:Play is an education tool which teaches repair through hands-on exercises. It consists of a game console which has a number of ‘issues’ which the user fixes. As the user fixes more of the issues, the more games they can play and the more functional the device becomes.
In making Re:Play, we asked:
What needs to be repaired?
The tools for this repairs?
How to teach for that tool?
We have taught young people to repair and given them Re:Play repair kits.
This prototype allowed us to quickly test our ideas with educators, inventors and most importantly...young people!
This second version allowed us to fix some issues and implement the feedback from our young beta-testers.
