Coach Addante is going to be starting his 4th season with the Warrior Softball Team. The warriors have achieved great things in a short time going 18-2 this past season and once again 8-0 in the CSL North winning the Conference Championship paired up with 19-4 the season prior and 8-0 in the CSL North winning the Conference Championship that year as well. We will continue to increase our players Softball IQ and continue to develop their Skills. We have several players currently playing at the College level and wish them all the best. "Once a Warrior always a Warrior"
Coach Addante was the former Varsity Baseball coach from 1999-2006 winning multiple CSL Championships, Regional, and Sectional Championships while setting a school record 30 wins in a season and receiving the class "AA" IHSA Coach of the Year award. Coach Addante sent several players on to have very successful college careers along with a 15 year Major League player in Ladendorf. Addante left baseball to coach his daughters Fast-pitch Softball team for the past 10+ years helping develop many players including his own. Addante’s daughter finished up her career playing four years at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and is now an Assistant Varsity Softball Coach at Hampshire HS. Addante and his daughter currently co-coach a CTW-AA 18u Premier travel team out of Crystal Lake.
Addante as a collegiate baseball player was a college All-American and named top 6 player in country by Baseball America. Was inducted in HOF in 2008.
Coach Addante is looking forward to further developing players on the softball side of the Diamond as well as getting them opportunities to play at the next level while also competing for Conference & Regional Titles.
CO-HEAD VARSITY COACH
Coach Dvorak is looking forward to his ninth year as co-head coach of the Varsity Softball Team. He graduated from Northeast Missouri State (Truman State) with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Illinois State with a master degree in Physical Education (Sport Administration).
Prior to his arrival at Maine West, Coach Dvorak was the Assistant Varsity Coach at Glenbard North High School. He enjoys spending time with his two children Drew and Lauren who are both in High School.
Coach Dvorak is excited to further help players grow this year!
ASSISTANT VARSITY COACH
Coach Faiza is looking forward to starting her second season on the Varsity Softball Coaching Staff. Coach Faiza graduated from Maine West in 2023. Coach Faiza was a Captain for the Warriors in 2023 and was an important piece in creating the culture and family environment that we have today. Coach Faiza continues to attend Loyola University and is looking forward to giving back and helping others have the same positive experience that she had in the Maine West Softball program. Coach Faiza brings knowledge and experience in the Outfield, Infield, and at the Catcher position having played all of them.
JEN BETTHAUSER
ASSISTANT VARSITY COACH
Coach B is looking forward to her first season coaching with the Varsity Softball Staff. Coach B is a part of the CTE-Business Department here at Maine West and has been in the teaching profession for a handful of years coming to us from the Naperville School District. Coach B is going to be an important piece of the Coaching Staff as she will be working with the mental approach of our players along with the Technology side of things taking video and breaking it down so Coaches can better improve the skill level of our players. We welcome Coach B to the Staff and look forward to seeing her skill set pay off during our season.
RYAN SCHUR
ASSISTANT VARSITY COACH
Coach Ryan is another Maine West alumni who returns to the school with an extensive background in playing, coaching, and athlete development. As a member of the Maine West Baseball Team, Ryan earned All-Conference and All-Area honors, served as a team captain, and was recognized as a Scholar Athlete. He also competed at a high level with Mt. Prospect American Legion Baseball.
Ryan continued his baseball career at Beloit College, where he was a four-year starter in center field and the team’s leadoff hitter throughout his collegiate career. He holds Beloit’s all-time Hit By Pitch record, a testament to his toughness and competitive approach. Following graduation, Ryan was selected as a member of Team USA, competing in an international invitational in Aruba.
His coaching experience includes working with Playball USA, where he provided hitting and outfield instruction, as well as coaching summer travel teams ranging from 12U through 18U, including the Playball Patriots. Over the past 10 years, Ryan has dedicated himself to training and developing athletes, emphasizing skill development, confidence, and character.
Ryan is passionate about coaching and helping young athletes reach their greatest potential both on and off the field. We are excited to welcome Coach Ryan to the Maine West Softball program and look forward to the positive impact he will have on our student-athletes.
GRACE FELDKAMP
ASSISTANT VARSITY COACH
Coach Grace returns to Maine West as a coach after an outstanding playing career as one of the program’s most accomplished student-athletes. A former Warriors star, Grace excelled both in the circle where she consistently dominated opposing lineups and in the batter’s box as a powerful and reliable offensive threat.
During her playing career, Grace was a multi-year All-Conference and All-Area selection and was recognized as a 5-Star Athlete by the Des Plaines Journal & Topics. She was named Team MVP, led the team in all offensive categories, and earned a nomination from the CSL as Athlete of the Year, underscoring her impact and leadership on and off the field.
Now as Coach Grace, she brings that same passion, knowledge, and competitive excellence back to the program. Her firsthand experience, work ethic, and commitment to player development make her a valuable mentor and role model for the teams players. We welcome Coach Grace to the Staff and look forward to her immediate impact and leadership within the program .
GIGI VELAZQUEZ
JUNIOR VARSITY COACH
Coach G is a welcomed addition to the Warrior Coaching Staff. Coach G brings a wealth of playing experience as well as coaching experience. Coach G 's resume is very impressive. She is a current coach for the Windy City Travel team. Formerly she coached at Hoffman Estates High School and the St. Charles Silver Hawks.
Coach G started her college career at a D2 College in Miami, and then Covid hit and came home to attend and play at Elgin Community College. Post Covid she transferred to Judson College to finish her playing career and graduated with a degree in Psychology. Gigi continues to attend Grad School to get a Masters in School Psychology. Gigi has impressive knowledge of all positions as she has played just about all of them at a high level. Her passion for the game and helping young players increase their skills in very noticeable. We are looking forward to having Coach G as part of such a great staff.
NICOLE ROMAN WISTAFKE
ASSISTANT JUNIOR VARSITY COACH
Coach Nicole's journey in softball began at the age of 8, and over the past 30 years, she has established herself as a competitive force in both local and international circuits.
Nicole has played for several select women's national and international teams, including the Junior National Puerto Rico team, showcasing her pitching talent on the global stage. She passes this passion of pitching and the sport on by mentoring the next generation of softball players.
Her love for softball and commitment to energizing the next generation of athletes is a great addition to the Warrior Coaching staff. We are looking forward to having Coach Nicole as part of the Warriors Coaching Staff.
