Academic advising supports students in understanding the university and its policies, curriculum, and co-curriculum. The advising relationship teaches students the skills and confidence necessary to develop their identity and achieve their academic and future goals, take responsibility for their academic success, and practice intellectual curiosity. Students in a declared major will be assigned two academic advisors to help navigate their degree at USM.
